Marking and registration in Switzerland

As from January 1, 2007, all dogs living in Switzerland have to be clearly and unforgeably marked and registered at ANIS. Clarifications after bite attacks, in case of animal epidemics as well as in case of lost, neglected or abandoned dogs shall thus be made easier.

At the latest at the age of three months - but in any case before leaving their place of birth - all puppies must be marked with a microchip at the veterinarians and registered at ANIS.
