Databases

The data of each marked dog will be registered in a database. The owner, respectively the keeper, gets an identity paper with the marking data of his/her dog.  

The corresponding legal paragraph (Art. 17, TSV) does not foresee a central database; responsibility is with the Cantons. ANIS is however managing a central database by order of the Cantons; the database is ideally supported by the Swiss Animal Protection, the Swiss Association of Veterinarians, the Swiss Kennel Organisation and the Swiss Association of Veterinarians for Small Animals.
